What Ankit does now

Ankit runs RemoteCMO. He helps brands get named and cited when buyers ask ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews what to buy. The work has three parts:

  • AI visibility audits. Real buyer questions for one market and one language, run across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, logging who gets mentioned and which sites get cited.
  • Fixing the gaps. Site and schema, content, and the third-party sources AI actually reads.
  • Re-measuring. The same questions are run again, so every result is dated and checkable.

For US startups and brands where AI search is part of a wider growth plan, Ankit can also work as a fractional CMO, owning the plan with the team.

Background

Ankit has 15 years of operator growth across India, Southeast Asia, Africa and the Gulf.

  • Groupon, India. Built the online marketing team from zero.
  • An online grocery platform, Southeast Asia. Led regional marketing across Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand.
  • Grab, Southeast Asia. Performance marketing across 6 Southeast Asian markets, from Singapore.
  • Jumia, Africa. Display and app marketing across 12 African markets, with a team of 20+.
  • A healthtech company, the Gulf. First marketing hire, through Series B.
  • A supplements brand, the Gulf. Scaled the brand across 6 GCC markets.

Those roles taught him that one playbook rarely survives the next market. AI search works the same way: the brands and sources AI names change by country and language, so RemoteCMO measures each market separately.

Team

RemoteCMO was founded by Ankit Gupta with co-founder Ankita Gupta.

Markets and languages

India, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and the US. Audits run in English and, where buyers use them, in Hindi, Arabic, Bahasa Indonesia and Malay. See the pages for India, the Gulf, Southeast Asia and the US.

Writing

Ankit writes dated notes on AI visibility, including the mistakes brands make when they first check it, and how to fix them.

All notes are on the Insights page, with an RSS feed.

How he works

  • You deal with the person doing the work, not an account manager.
  • Results are dated, so you can check them later.
  • No placement guarantees. Nobody controls what these engines say.
